Back of The Book
The Hindi film industry, also known as Bollywood, is extremely popular today, and has even surpassed Hollywood, hitherto considered to be the largest in the world. It was in 1931that India produced its first film Raja Harishchandra, but its was only after independence that our Hindi film industry started growing by leaps and bounds. Since then, Bollywood films have carved a niche for themselves in the international film world, and our producers and directors have brought out one after the other popular and outstanding films.

Over the years, many Hindi films have received international recognition and appreciation. In this book the author has selected 30 films which are considered to be outstanding and distinctive, and have won accolades both nationally and internationally.

Though it was a very difficult task to select a few of the innumerable films, the author has made a selection of only 30 which he perceives to be exceptional in terms of their production value, directorial brilliance, soulful music, excellent performances, and above all public popularity. All these films went on to make history, and are till remembered by old and young alike.

This book gives elaborate details of each of those 30 films, including their star cast and credits, songs, story line, achievements and awards.
